After a great CAPAL23 conference, it’s time to start looking to start planning for CAPAL24!
Following the pattern of alternating in-person and online, the conference this year will be online and hosted by CAPAL. We are very excited to be able bring our members together online and hope that this will make it possible for a wider number of members to participate and attend the conference.
The Board of CAPAL/ACBES is seeking volunteers for the following positions on the Conference Organizing Committee. Each position is an opportunity to gain great experience!
- Conference Manager (Will be filled by a CAPAL Board Member)
- Program Chair
- Local Arrangements Coordinator/Online Logistics Coordinator
- Budget Officer
- Communications Coordinator
NOTE: In addition, we will be looking for volunteers to serve on the Program Subcommittee.
Details regarding the responsibilities for each of these Conference Organizing positions are outlined in the Guidelines for the Selection of Conference Organizers for the Annual Conference (see this link).
Please do consider volunteering for CAPAL24 in some capacity!
Deadline for applications is 2023 October 13th with selection and confirmation by approximately October 18th. An orientation to the conference process (based on past lessons!) will be organized with conference organizers to take place sometime in early October.
Expressions of interest should be submitted to the following email address: capalibrarians@gmail.com by 2023 October 13th. Such expressions of interest should highlight past experiences that address the selection criteria for the position of interest. Those interested in serving CAPAL/ACBES as Program Chair, should also include some ideas for CAPAL24 conference themes.
