As a member of Canadian Association of Professional Academic Librarians (CAPAL/ACBES) you are invited to participate in the governance of the association by sitting on the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors plays an important role in shaping the direction and policies of our young association by chairing committees, filling executive positions, liaising with other national organizations, and advocating on the diverse issues of concern to academic librarians across the country.
Our Board needs skillful, committed members who cross geographic, cultural, social, political and academic boundaries (to name a few) who will challenge our association to reflect the diverse interests and voices among Canadian academic librarians.If you are interested in serving on the board of directors, or would like to nominate a colleague, please visit:
If you are nominating yourself you will need to provide the email addresses of three current members of CAPAL. The nominations committee will contact these people to confirm they support your nomination. If you are nominating someone else you will need to supply their email address as well as the addresses of two other current members of CAPAL whom you believe will support this nomination.
