CAPAL Community of Practice: Information Literacy

CAPAL Community of Practice

Description: The Education and Professional Development Committee is proud to offer you our first online Community of Practice. This COP will discuss issues related to Information Literacy and will largely be shaped by the participants. If this is a topic that you are passionate about, please consider signing up for the COP as a chance to meet colleagues. We are hoping to spark a discussion that will continue.

About your host: Carol A. Leibiger is an Associate Professor and Information Literacy Coordinator in the University Libraries at the University of South Dakota, in Vermillion, South Dakota. Her areas of research interest are communication issues in reference service, the application of critical pedagogy to information-literacy instruction, and assessment, and she has communicated the results of her scholarly research at regional, national, and international conferences, as well as in scholarly journals like the Jahrbuch für internationale Germanistik and Behavioral & Social Sciences Librarian. For fun, Carol teaches seminars on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and H.P. Lovecraft.
