Submission deadline: February 21st, 2025

Submit to: Courtney Lundrigan and Alison Skyrme

More information: EDID Initiatives Fund page

The Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences is now welcoming submissions for the spring cycle of the EDID Initiatives Fund. As a member of the Federation, CAPAL has been invited to submit one member proposal to the fund.

The EDID Initiatives Fund continues to build upon the progress they have made in various areas of EDID since the independent Congress Advisory Committee on EDID released their “Igniting Change” report.

This fund is intended as an opportunity for member associations to develop initiatives that advance equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization (EDID). Associations may choose to present projects and events that take place year-round, or at Congress.

Funding from the EDID Initiatives Fund will provide a maximum of 50% (up to $3000) of funding for the event. CAPAL will supply the other 50% (up to $3,000).  Proposals seeking CAPAL support must be reviewed by CAPAL before applying through FHSS. Please send your proposal to Courtney Lundrigan (clundrigan@uvic.ca) and Alison Skyrme (askyrme@torontomu.ca) by February 21st, who will review and recommend one proposal for CAPAL to submit by the FHSS’s February 28th deadline. Proposals that do not go through this review will not be eligible for CAPAL funding.

CAPAL will select one representative submission to the fund.  Please note that this is a new process for us, and we are undertaking it on a pilot basis.  If we solicit submissions for future funding cycles, we will include the translation of calls for participation and associated communications.

For more information on eligibility criteria and process guidelines, visit the EDID Initiatives Fund page.

Sincerely,

Courtney Lundrigan and Alison Skyrme
