SUMMARY:Summer LIS Research Accelerator: Week One
DESCRIPTION:Do you have a paper or project that you’d like to develop for publication? \nWe’re excited to announce an opportunity for library students and new researchers to gain hands-on experience in research and scholarship through our free 6-week Summer Research Accelerator Program. This program is designed to help participants develop practical research skills\, collaborate with peers\, and contribute to meaningful projects in an academic environment. \nProgram Highlights: \n\nDuration: The program is online and synchronous\, at 1 pm / 13h EDT\, each Wednesday from July 9 to August 13\, 2025.\nOpportunities to develop real-world research projects\nMentorship from experienced researchers\nNetworking with colleagues in the field\n\nEligibility: Open to current library students and early-career researchers. Prior research isn’t required\, but it’s helpful if you have a project you are working on. Priority for this program is reserved for Canadian Association of Professional Academic Librarians (CAPAL) members. We’re limited to 30 participants. If you sign up\, you are expected to attend at least 5 out of 6\, 1.5 hour (90 minute) sessions and participate in the activities during the sessions. \nBeing a CAPAL member and participating in least 5 of the 6 sessions is the requirement to receive a CAPAL certificate of participation. Sessions will not be recorded.  \nTo apply or learn more about the program\, please visit:  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdnYuE_3iPv6vXpKDUcSmE90IkyGgAZMK3-iOg6745r3qNQVw/viewform?usp=sharing \nThe application deadline is Friday May 2\, 2025.
