Services de visualisation de données

Data Visualization Services are roughly defined as developing, coordinating, and supporting services and programs that advance knowledge and skills related to quantitative and qualitative data analysis, data visualization, and general digital and data fluency. These services may be delivered by a librarian with an explicit data visualization portfolio or as data visualization relates to data services, map & GIS services, digital humanities, etc.

Objectives

The objectives of the CoP will be based on the interests of the participants and will thus likely vary over time. Initially, some objectives may include:

  • To create a community to discuss the data visualization landscape and emerging trends
  • To create a supportive network to discuss challenges and issues pertaining to data visualization and data visualization services
  • To share resources to create sustainable models of instruction
  • To identify and facilitate opportunities identify for collaborative projects related to data visualization
  • To report the projects and services on data visualization and share new ideas

Membership & Structure

This CoP is open to all CAPAL members involved with or interested in providing data visualization services within academic libraries. A standing agenda for a bi-monthly one-hour virtual meeting could look like:

  1. Members Introduction with updates on current projects
  2. Discussing a monthly theme or having guest speaker
  3. Q&A or Open Discussion Period
