The Canadian Association of Professional Academic Librarians is committed to advocating on behalf of its members on matters affecting professional academic librarianship, first, nationally and second, internationally, as deemed relevant or important to our Canadian membership.
CAPAL shall take leadership on issues of national significance relating to academic librarianship and will work with local, provincial and national groups on areas of concern for our members.
CAPAL shall work with provincial, national and international organizations which actively represent and support the causes, concerns and interests of academic librarianship in Canada.
CAPAL will strive to ensure that the voices of its members are heard. We welcome ideas and suggestions, which can be submitted directly through our website.
CAPAL is committed to creating partnerships that ensure effective change in the development of the profession for its members in post-secondary education and society as a whole.
